This very special recording facility was dubbed “The Light House” for a number of reasons.
The first, and most obvious, is that unlike so many recording facilities, The Light House was painstakingly soundproofed WITHOUT blocking out the sun. On most days, there is no need for any artifical light at The Light House until after the sun has gone down.
Secondly, a lighthouse is a beacon, helping ships to navigate uncertain waters at the most vulnerable stage of their journey. As an artist with a performance that you want to capture and share with the world, this is definitely a stage in your journey where if you take the wrong direction things can take an ugly turn. At The Light House we are here to guide you through the process.
Most importantly, spelled with two words the name implies a “house of light”. Light is a universal symbol for the source of life, for the force that supports goodwill and good fortune, something that emanates from a higher power. So what a wonderful image to personify a place where people come to turn their inspiration into something that can be shared with the rest of the world.
Or, in other words, be “brought to light”.
